PIKE and Delta Zeta’s Annual ZERO PROOF Date Auction
What: An auction with a chance to win fun alcohol-free dates with men and women from several Northeastern University student organizations. 100% of the proceeds will be going to STEP, Inc, a local alcohol and substance abuse service and counseling center.
Representatives from different student organizations get up on stage and talk about themselves, their interests, and of course their plan for an alcohol-free date with the highest bidder. Spots are still available for more organizations or individuals interested in having a date auctioned off.
Last year’s Date Auction raised close to $1,300 for STEP and was covered by the Huntington News. With increased support from different student groups, we are aiming to raise over 2,000 dollars this year!
When: Thursday October 22, 2009. 7:00pm
Where: Right here at Northeastern University. The auction will be held in afterHOURS in the Curry Student Center.
Who: Pi Kappa Alpha and Delta Zeta’s Annual ZERO Proof Date Auction, is open to all NU students.
For more information on STEP, Inc, please visit their website.

Fall Chapter Retreat
During the weekend of September 18th 39 Pike brothers attended a retreat in Sandwich, MA. While on the retreat the brothers discussed successes and areas of improvement from last year along with goals for the upcoming year. It wasn't all work though, the brothers enjoyed low and high ropes courses, a lake, diving dock, and the fresh air you just can’t find in Boston. With this goal setting retreat under the belt the brothers of Pi Kappa Alpha are looking forward to another award winning year.

1000 Students Brave the Rain During the Third Annual
Mother Nature may not have been smiling during PIKEtoberfest III but the estimated 1000 students in the crowd certainly were. The crowd enjoyed tremendous performances by State Radio and Longwave along with great food while dodging a couple rain showers during the 4 hour event. Pi Kappa Alpha would like to thank State Radio and Longwave, Sigma Beta Rho, Colleges Against Cancer, and RSA for all their support, without which this event would not have been possible, and last but certainly not least all those who attended PIKEtoberfest despite the weather. We look forward to putting this event on for years to come and hope to see you at the fourth annual PIKEtoberfest next fall.

Preparing for the upcoming semesters' rush the Kappa Delta Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha will be setting up a table at all the upcoming Freshman Orientations. The brothers that will be there will be answering any questions students may have about Greek Life or Pi Kappa Alpha itself. These tables will not be only for students coming in to their Freshman Year, so any students that are still on campus or in the Boston Area and interested in Greek Life are more then welcomed to stop by. A Chapter of Excellence
Last week the Kappa Delta Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha participated in Northeastern's annual Greek Week events. The week was kicked off with community service and was followed by Greek Olympics, God and Goddess, and Sing on each of their respected days. An awards ceremony wrapped up the week which proved to be very exciting for all of us. For starters our teaming up with Delta Zeta and Sigma Beta Rho resulted in a 2009 Greek Week Championship, which was followed shortly by our very own Amal Shumar winning the Outstanding Advisor Award. Pike went on to achieve gold level awards in Philanthropy, Community Service, Leadership and Unity/Community along with the 2009 Greek Week Overall Top Fraternity Award and Chapter Excellence Award. A special congratulations to Michael Kinchla for his exceptional performance in Greek God and Goddess and thank you to Brian Garcia, Greek Week Chairman.

Pike to Participate in Relay For Life
On April 10th, Pi Kappa Alpha will be participating in the American Cancer Society's "All-U Relay for Life" at Harvard University. We will be joining teams from colleges all around Boston as we camp out and continuously walk Harvard's indoor track for 12 hours.
Relay for Life is about celebration, remembrance, and hope. We participate to honor cancer survivors, pay tribute to the lives we've lost to the disease, and raise money to help fight it. We would love your support and appreciate donations of any amount. To find out more about our team and make a donation visit
