Puck

We will never forget you Puck.

On Sunday morning April 1st, 2007 the members of Pi Kappa Alpha were notified that Jake Freeman, known as "Puck" by the Fraternity had been rushed to Brigham and Women's hospital.

The chapter transformed itself into a true family as it attempted to support each other and Puck's family. Arrangements were made to fly his girlfriend in from Long Beach, CA and his parents from Tiburon, CA. In addition, hotel reservations were made to ensure that Puck's family could stay near the hospital.

Puck was stabilized after hours of surgery and placed in the ICU at Brigham and Women's hospital. He could not breath on his own, nor could he respond to stimuli.

On Monday night April 2nd, 2007 over 50 members of Pi Kappa Alpha, both undergraduate and Alumni gathered with Father Jon of St. Cecilia's parish in the lobby of the hospital. At approximately 10:00 PM Puck's sister, Becca, accompanied by Brother Paul Tyman notified the Brothers that Jake had passed away. In one last courageous move it was decided to donate Puck's organs in order to save the lives of countless others.

Following this message the entire family met up with the deeply saddened Brothers to thank them for all that they had done for them over the past few days, and to thank them for everything that they had done for Puck. In less than six months Puck had gone from a "nobody on campus" to a man who had an extended family of over 60 strong.

We will always miss you Puck. In the Bonds of Phi Phi Kappa Alpha.
